Introducing Mr Moustache

You see that somewhat confused looking man up there? His name is Dominik Novák aka Mr. Moustache (can you guess why?) he's a 20 year old producer from a small town in the Czech Republic and he's been making some of the funkiest stuff I've ever heard. Aside from knowing that he makes a good tune I knew nothing about this mustached figure, so after some casual e-mails were exchanged I learned quite a bit. I've learned that this mustachioed man is also quite fond of the funky stuff himself, his influences being Louis La Roche and Duck Sauce to name a few. Another interesting note, another one of his major influences is The Phantom's Revenge which shows because his sound is very similar to The Phantom's. Although I would say he's given the sound quite an improvement by perfectly combining the glitchy breaks with his superb sampling skills in a way that just makes you want to dance until your legs give out. After getting to know him, Mr. Moustache is a pretty cool guy and until his new EP drops in October you should check out some tunes below or on his Soundcloud. I've also got a little surprise set up just for you guys that you can expect in the approaching week so be sure to mark your calenders for it!

Mr. Moustache - BBQ

Quintessential Stadium Anthem

Every once in a while, there comes a track that just sounds like it belongs on the worlds' biggest stages. Where Are You is that kind of track. The original track was created via a super-collaboration featuring Junior Sanchez, Shawnee Taylor, Harry Romero, and Alexander Technique. Then Steve Angello wanted to make it that much better, so he created his out edit. And wouldn't you know it, he fucking killed it! I wonder why Steve Angello has his hands on everything that is completely epic. Must be in his genes or something. Anyways, grab the low quality track below and then head over to Beatport to buy the 320. It's well worth it.

Introducing Dom Corleone

I present to you all Dom Corleone. A young producer/turntablist from the great city of Los Angeles, as well as the most recent addition to the DANCEiSM crew. He brings to the table what all dance floors need, offering a buffet of bass, served with a side order of breaks, top that off with some Brazilian spice and you have a recipe that guarantees to keep the party rockin’ and the booties shakin’ all night. He has already left many of LA’s top venues a blaze and has spun with top names like Will Bailey and Acid Girls just to name a few. His unique blend of music styles have caught not only the eye of DANCEiSM, but also, the LA based, Circuit Freq Records where he released his first single titled WHAT! With a fresh new EP on the horizon along with some hard hitting remixes, the future looks good for this young producer.

Here's a quote about Dom Corleone's first single from the man himself. Enjoy the track below.

"I made this track at a time when I was really trying to find what sort of elements really made, in my opinion, a dance floor banger. A while ago i was turned on to a lot of Latin music but what really caught my ear was Portuguese music. I really wanted to add that funk to my arsenal and hone in on a new sound for myself, so after a while of experimenting WHAT! was born. With mixing skills by ASAA, my sound was able to evolve into something new and exciting for me and hopefully for everyone to enjoy."

In The Year 2999...

The future is arguably one of the most frightening things in existence. No one knows about it and all we can do is make predictions based on what we already know and hope for the best. Although the recent project from the people at Peppermill Records takes a peek into the future, specifically 989 years from now, in a musical perspective. Recruiting producers from who-knows-where give their insight on the future with a short story and a track accompanying it. Each track is then sent to an artist to create the cover art based on the track and the story. So far we've been given an assortment of tracks ranging from chilled-out techno, insane dubstep tracks to even the presently unclassifiable. The art is also very well done essentially bringing the stories to life with their dead-on depictions of the story that each of them are based on. As far as I know the project is still ongoing and I hope it doesn't end anytime soon. Download each entry below and be sure to check out the producers and artists involved in this wonderful project.

Exclusive Interview With Clouds

I recently posted about a young Scottish act named Clouds with a big sound and a bright future ahead of them. If their debut EP is any sign of where they are heading, I say they will make it pretty far in this industry. They accomplish what a lot of people try very hard to do, but instead of failing miserably like most, they flourish. Their unique blend of ear-shredding synths and impeccable quality and audio clarity catches any music lovers attention right from the get go. I recently had the opportunity to ask the duo a few questions. Here's what happened.

DSCO: First off, thank you for taking the time to speak with us. Your an up and coming producer duo who has illustrated a great deal of talent for creating electronic music that we enjoy and respect very much here at DSCOTECH.

Clouds: (No response)

DSCO: Give our readers' a little bit of background information on yourselves.
Who in the world is Clouds and what do they do?

Clouds: We are clouds, we're 18 and 19 and we make techno jams.

DSCO: This question has become a bit of a tradition around here. How would you guys' describe your sound?

Clouds: We always struggle with answering this question, we try and make energetic, hard techno without it sounding too much like the bloody beetroots. That shit sucks. We try not to care too much about sticking to a certain style/genre or even a certain beat structure. Having a good sense of humor when making tracks is always a plus (Tiga).

DSCO: In my personal opinion, I believe your music could best be described as controlled chaos. When listening to your tracks, I'm convinced my speakers are on the brink of exploding, but yet the polish and overall quality of the audio miraculously prevents them from doing such a thing. How do you achieve such a rich, powerful, yet extremely clean sound like for instance, the main synthesizer in your most recent release, Liquid?

Clouds: Sweet compressing and a light drizzle of limiting. But really we have no idea why people like our sound so much.

The Foreigner: In your opinions, who is the best producer out there at the moment?

Clouds: Mr Oizo is an insanely good producer. Zombie Nation and Tiga are also personal favorites.

DSCO: How about the best DJ?

Clouds: Derrick Carter.

DSCO: Who are you guys' dying to collaborate with?

Clouds: We have actually just finished a track with Ado (soundcloud) and have plans for another but would love to do something with Tiga. His stuff has been a huge influence and he has a great voice.

DSCO: What approach do you guys' take when working alongside another artist?

Clouds: The same as when we make our own stuff. We try not to take things too seriously.

The Foreigner: How do you guys' prepare for a DJ set? Do you prepare a tracklist or do you free-willy it? Any tips, tricks, and or advice for our DJ readers?

Clouds: We know what tracks we want to play and we play them hard. We sometimes look for tracks that mix well together before we actually play them. A tip would be not to play UK Funky.

DSCO: Talk to us a little bit about your guys' debut EP release on Fake Blood's new label, Blood Music. Which track is your favorite and why?

Clouds: We are really excited to be the 1st release on what looks to be a huge label. Our favorite track is Mauful Sir, because it's better than Liquid.

DSCO: What are the top 3 songs on your DJ playlist at the moment?

Clouds: ZZT - Zzafrika, Stefan Goldmann - The Maze, Daft Punk - Alive.

DSCO: I hear you have an EP coming out on Turbo Recordings. Is this true? If so, mind sharing some details with us (release date, tracks containted, remixers, etc.)?

Clouds: We have plans for an EP on Turbo, this is true.

DSCO: What does the future have in stock for Clouds? Can we expect some remixes out of you anytime soon? Any tours planned for the recent future

Clouds: We're just taking everything as it come right now. We don't make plans. Plans make us. (Nervous).

DSCO: Thank you for taking the time to speak with us, it was truly a pleasure and we hope to hear back from you soon. Come back anytime. Cheers.

Clouds: Thanks

Hat+Hoodie - Horrido EP

Busy bloggers and skilled production duo Hat+Hoodie have just released a new EP on DBTY Records entitled Horrido. It comes with two original tracks and a remix for them by Legobeat and Cocotaxi. The title track, Horrido, is a house track that has a sound that is not unlike that of Fex Fellini but a little more danceable. It's B-side Turnitup is a tech-house track that sounds like the offspring of Zombies for Money and Highbloo, definitely the one to play in the clubs. The remixes do not disappoint either. Legobeat's rendition of Horrido has a nice melody and a little wobble here and there while Cocotaxi's remix is arguably the better one it's tropical feel changes the overall tone of the original from club-house to awesome-jungle-adventure. Preview the EP and check out Max Le Daron's moombahton remix of Turnitup below and be sure to support these fine fellows by buying the EP on iTunes here.

Duran Duran Duran - Over Hard

Ladies and Gentlemen, what you are about to read is not a part of the DSCOTECH's musical agenda of electro, house or dubstep. If you are only a fan of these types of EDM and you do not wish to explore the more odder forms of electronic dance music please skip this post and have a wonderful day. For those of you who have decided to keep reading please continue what you are currently doing.

Reviews are pretty important in the musical world, they can make or break a person/acts musical career in a heartbeat. So what if your first album receives reviews calling it "A pile of crap dipped in fool's gold" or earning much coveted titles such as "Worst Album Cover Of The Month"? I imagine Ed Flis, AKA Duran Duran Duran, either shrugs them away and keeps on doing his thing or hires a new artist to do the next album cover. While it's clear that Ed has done at least one of those things (or none of them) as he's stayed in the game long enough to create a brand new album entitled Over Hard On DJ Donna Summer's other label Cock Rock Disco. His new album take his previous style of breakcore and gives it dash of unique of sounds for each track. From the breakbeat styles of Bass Racist, the sample destruction on Homicidal Drug Rape, or the acid house influence on Prime Cut it's become evident that DDD is showing some major potential to be the greatest producer in the enitre known universe. Or maybe he just made a very weird album, take your pick. If you've decided to own this musical creation of (dis)harmony you can buy it on Beatport here or iTunes here.

Tracklist:
Drop That E (Intro)
Bass Racist
Booty Jihad (187 kps)
Prime Cut

Furious George (197 kps)

Planet Turbo EP Review

Today marks the release of the highly anticipated Planet Turbo EP featuring remixes from DiploHey Today!, The Finger Prince, Matt Walsh, and Carte Blanche. The Diplo remix of Proxy's 8000 is genius. He perfectly utilizes the gypsy sounds of the original and transforms it into a slow-paced dance hall slammer. When this track drops, so will your jaw. Hey Today!'s remix of Tiga's You Gonna Want Me is the quintessential Dutch House track that just bangs and breaks the repetition just at the right moment. I wouldn't  be surprised if it's considered one of the best tracks of 2010. The Finger Prince successfully transformed Boy 8-Bit's Yard Birds into a beautiful Electro House track, that opens up the song with an infectious melody and then slams you down hard into a groove-filled, rump-shaking track. Matt Walsh's remix of Popof's The Chomper is a techno-heads' wet dream, filled to the brim with wandering blips and clicks. Great music for an opening set. Last but not least, we have Carte Blanche's Late Nite Mix of Chromeo's Don't Turn The Lights On, which is nothing short of amazing, especially when Dave 1's voice emerges to lead you through the epic break down. This EP is one for the ages folks. Preview all the tracks below. Do yourself a favor and go buy it here.

Clouds In The House

Youthful Scottish act, Clouds, seems to be rising faster than a 70 year old man on Viagra. And for good reason. They recently released a new EP on Fake Blood's new label, Blood Music, containing two massive, massive tracks that will be making their way to a dancefloor near you. Liquid is my personal favorite due to it's unique dynamics that are variable throughout the course of the track. The second breakdown I believe was created specifically to drop women's panties and to cause baby's to cry. Not too sure, could be wrong. I'll have to double check with my sources. Mauful Sir is definitely the more traditional club banger with a catchy bassline and rhythmic techno bleeps to assist you in your dancing. Both are amazing tracks and deserve your immediate attention. Preview the tracks below and then go purchase the EP on 7Digital here.

TAI Feat. Steve Aoki - Paradise Poltergeist (LA Riots Remix)

Dear Mr. Aoki,

Why did you not include this wonderful remix done by LA Riots into TAI's newly released Beatdown EP? It is quite possibly the best version of Paradise Poltergeist and it still did not make into the EP. Please tell me why?

Cheers,
DSCO

Mako Records: Electro Up To 11

Electro is a very fine genre of EDM wouldn't you say? It's very popular in the so called "blog-o-sphere" that people are always on the look for the hardest and heaviest tracks they can find. When one experiments with this genre it must be quite a challenge to make a sound that is both unique and innovative. But for Russia's Proxy producing dirty, glitch filled tracks seems like a second nature as he's been getting support from everyone from Soulwax to Mr. Oizo since his early releases on Turbo Records. Since then he's started his own label earlier this year called Mako Records and has signed many talented artists such as Polymorphic, The Mould, Marseille, Eclier and the Noise Invaders. Each with their own distinct style of glitched madness that their label head is known for. Check out a little sampler from each artist below and be sure to support Mako on Beatport here.

Eclier - The Hole
Marseille - Over My Soul
Polymorphic - Porno
The Mould - Ghetto
Chromeo - Don't Turn The Lights On (Noise Invaders Dub)

Proxy - 8000 (Diplo Remix)

The soon to be released Planet Turbo Compilation EP is looking absolutely wonderful. From the up-lifting Yard Birds remix done by The Finger Prince, to the Carte Blanche remix of Chromeo's Don't Turn The Lights On, it's packed filled with dance anthems. One in particular that stuck out like a sore thumb was Diplo's rendition of Proxy's 8000. He successfully transforms 8000 into a gypsy-inspired Global House track that breaks into pure dance gold. This song will drop your jaw to the floor. Don't take it from me have a listen for yourself.

Boy Noize - 1010 (Out Soon On BNR!)

Nick Cambell - Brick Scrap

I first heard this dance floor smasher watching Fake Blood tear up WMC 2010. It was conspicuously renamed "Sound The Horn" by many members of the Erol Alkan forum, and it was thought to be an original done by Fake Blood himself. I, along with many others, were wrong. Nick Cambell is the man responsible for this Electronic master piece. Nick Cambell, if your listening, please make more music that sounds like this. Featured below is the mp3 as well as the video mentioned above. Cheers.

Bird Peterson - Zutopong

Bird Peterson has been one of my favorite producers for quite a while. He manages to combine hip-hop with genres like electro house and dubstep in a way that just leaves me in awe every time I hear something new from him. Although, that's' not quite the case for his forthcoming release, on JFK's label Teenage Riot Records, as I've had the track for about a year now. But the release comes with some pretty dope remixes from Ocelot, Nadastrom, Proper Villains and even Bird himself! Grab the EP on Beatport here and check out the Akira Kiteshi VIP below!

Big Boi - Shutterbug (Jack Beats Remix)

Not too long ago, Hip-Hop superstar Big Boi released Shutterbug, an instant hit which I personally love. It's fun, upbeat, and not to mention, extremely groovy. Then comes UK sensation, Jack Beats, to do a proper remix of the damn thing and man does it just pop. It starts off as a catchy Electro House track and eventually, the track slows down and throws some wobbles your way.  Jack Beats have absolutely smashed it with this one. Grab it in beautiful, club-worthy 320 kbps below. Cheers to Technocolorkids for the find.

Retro/Grade - Pulsar (12 Inch Version)

I recently ran into this Electronic marvel a few days ago and finally got the time to post it. Pulsar, which has been getting some big support from both, Boys Noize and Erol Alkan, is a rich track that entices the listener with it's infectious grooves. This track tears the club. There really is no other way of putting it. Overall, a masterful dance track that deserves as much attention as it possibly can receive. Enjoy.

Florrie - Give Me Your Love (LOL Boys Remix)

If you've been following the LOL Boys as closely as I have been you would know that A) They are very web-friendly and B) They make tunes that are very percussive. Recently they seem to be going for a more dreamy/ambient sound, great for relaxing after the day comes to a close. Combining such a sound with Florrie's soothing vocal style is like, well I can't even begin to think of a simile to describe such an event. Luckily for me I don't have to, grab it below and immerse yourself in the heavenly sound scape that has been so generously offered in 320 kps. Also if you dig my posts follow me on Twitter!

Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand

Ladies and gentlemen, the moment you all have been waiting for. Two words. Barbra Streisand. If your like me, you haven't been able to get this track out of your mind for months! Ever since I first saw the footage of Duck Sauce dropping this, back then, mysterious, yet extremely infectious dance track at WMC 2010, I was in love. Fortunately, all you lovely people out in cyberspace can finally enjoy the original  mix in it's full auditory glory. Now go on, get on with your bad self.

Fex Fellini - Kudos To Jack EP

Fex Fellini is the new solo project from German DJ Felix Neaumann. His first EP as Fex will be released on September 17th on Top Billin with 4 originals with a sound that he describes as "Gypsy House". The guy's already been getting support by the likes of Malente, Canblaster and the Round Table Knights. Listen to some free tracks below and be sure to preview the EP on his Soundcloud.

Make The Girl Dance & Solange La Frange - Wall Of Death

Make The Girl Dance and Swiss electro-rock band Solange La Frange collaborated some time ago to create a monster of a track, properly entitled, Wall of Death. Standing alongside the original are two hard n' heavy remixes and one so-so remix by the Cyberpunkers, StereoHeroes and The Killers Rabbits & Little Poney respectively. Grab it here.

SonicC & Autoerotique - K*M*A

Dim Mak label mates, SonicC & Autoerotique, have teamed up to create an Electro House banger simply titled K*M*A (stands for Kiss My Ass). It is the title track of their new EP K*M*A, which features 5 tracks, including the original. The title track is full of energy, which is exactly what you would expect from either of the two artists involved. The synthizer being pitch bended to death sounds amazing over a loud system. And not to mention the techno bleeps that resemble the now classic The Reward Is Cheese by Deadmau5, they drive me absolutely bonkers! They truly make the song pop, so to speak. Check out the rest of the release on Beatport here.

CONTROL FRIDAY 09/03/10 W/ KISSY SELL OUT + DESIGNER DRUGS + DETH HERTZ + DSCO VIDEO

Boemklatsch Drops It Heavy and Groovy

Dutch native party specialists, Boemklatsch, have graciously delivered some fancy tracks for all of us to enjoy via email. Two very different remixes (one Disco House, the other Hard Electro), that each have their own unique charm and likability. The first track is a remix of Sharam Jey's The Things feat. Tommie Sunshine, a super classy Disco House track that filters its' way into your heart. The other is a hard-hitting Electro remix of Seymour Bits' This Is The Place To Be. The way they utilize the original vocals is extremely interesting, glitchy, and most importantly, enjoyable. This is your typical festival banger and lucky for you, I have provided it below, in glorious 320kbps.

Sharam Jey - The Things feat. Tommie Sunshine (Boemklatsch 'hmmm disco' Remix)

Seymour Bit's - This Is The Place To Be (Boemklatsch Remix)

Shinichi Osawa/Paul Chambers - Singapore Swing (Sound Of Stereo Remix)

Shinichi Osawa and Paul Chambers have released their huge collaborative EP titled Singapore Swing on Southern Fried Records. The title track is accompanied by two remixes, one done by Style Of Eye which is decent, and the other done by Dim Mak mates Sound Of Stereo, who absolutely smashed it with their rendition of Singapore Swing. Sound Of Stereo successfully utilizes all the elements of the original and manage to make it heavier and harder than it's predecessor. Simply put, it's absolute madness. Grab it below and check out the rest of the EP on Junodownload here.
