Have you ever attended a concert where the performer/s just absolutely kill it, and after all is said and done, thought to yourself, "Man, I wish I had a copy of that on my iPod"? Well today is your lucky day. Swedish House Mafia have recently released their entire one and a half hour set from this years Electric Daisy Carnival via Twitter. For those of you who were lucky enough to have witnessed their set live in person, take this as a commemorative gift that will forever resurface those euphoric feelings of that very special perfomance. And for those of you who couldn't make it, take this as a reason to never pass up seeing Swedish House Mafia . . . EVER. Enjoy the shit out of this one folks. Cheers.

Epic Bonus!!!
Moby performed the set of his life at this years EDC and in my opinion, proved to be one of the top performers of the night. This isn't the full set, but the quality makes up for that.

B-Ju / Eric Volta - New Blood EP

Claude VonStroke's record label, dirtybird records, has released a fantastic new EP titled New Blood. This EP features new, budding artists B-Ju and Eric Volta. New Blood contains two dynamic Minimal tracks, each with their unique flavor. B-Ju puts the House in Tech House with his track, My Sneakers. My Sneakers is much heavier, fuller and more original than most Minimal tracks out there. A must have for any and all warm-up DJs. Next we have Eric Volta's DJango, a tropical little number that slices vocal samples in an interesting and pleasing fashion. Both tracks have received massive support from some of todays biggest acts, and I suggest you do the same. Claude VonStroke is doing big things with his label and I look forward to seeing more fresh talents appearing on dirtybird records.

Andras Caron - Welcome To The Future

Andras Caron recently released The Classic Introduction EP on GirlsLoveDJs Records. The EP features four tracks, each with a unique style and flavor. The most notable track off The Classic Introduction EP is Welcome To The Future. This track is a straight-up stadium banger that in a strange way, resembles the now classic Warp 1.9 by The Bloody Beetroots. Welcome To The Future is a must for any DJ and lucky for you, GirlsLoveDJs Records has given me permission to give it away for free! Preview the entire EP below, and purchase it on Beatport here.

Jack Beats - Revolution EP

Jack Beats recently released the much anticipated Revolution EP on Cheap Thrills Records. The title track is reminiscent of their roots with badass vocal samples, techno bleeps and a healthy dose of grimy wobbles. Out Of Body, my personal favorite, departs a bit from their usual style and takes more of an Electro House route, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The vocals of this track are phenomenal, as they seamlessly mesh with the background track. You will find your hands in the air and your rump shaking, from side to side when you hear Out Of Body. It's safe to say Jack Beats is back ladies and gents', and in a big way. I can't wait to catch them live this Friday at EDC!!!

Be on the lookout for a special edition EDC post, this Thursday.

LCD Soundsystem - You Wanted A Hit (Soulwax Remix)

Everyone's favorite Electronic supergroup, Soulwax, have successfully remixed one of my favorite tracks off LCD Soundsystem's latest album release, titled You Wanted A Hit. The Belgium natives begin the track with James Murphy's hones-sounding voice, which mesmerizes the listener in the foreground while minimalistic percussion keeps the beat alive in the background. You Wanted A Hit then leads the listener to a sudden pause, followed by a couple seconds of silence. The track returns with a much larger, fuller sound which can be credited to the radical synth and techno bleeps, all while still utilizing James Murphy's voice to perfection. This is a great track, and I can't wait for the official release.

In related news, the drummer of Soulwax, One Man Party aka Steve Slingeneyer, will be performing at Control on July 16th, along with the infamous, Plump DJs. This show will not be one to miss. Grab your discounted presale tickets here.

Don Diablo Is Your Daddy + Remixes

Don Diablo, Electro-man extraordinaire, is getting ready to release his first single on August 2nd titled Who's Your Daddy. This single comes off his forthcoming album, Exit Studio Sweatshop. If Who's Your Daddy is any sign of the upcoming album, then to say the very least, his new album will be fantastic. The original is fun-loving Electro banger that doesn't take itself too seriously with it's off-the-wall lyrics and funky samples. Some notable supporters of the original are Fake Blood, Plump DJs, Laidback Luke, and none other than, The Bloody Beetroots. The remixes that accompany the single are dynamite, especially the remixes done by A.Skillz and Black Noise. A.Skillz turns Don Diablo's original into pure gold, with signature Electro synths and drums, raising the overall intensity of the track. Black Noise slows things down a bit, and gives the listener a healthy dose of wobble with a side of heavy House. Grab them both below.

Keith & Supabeatz Make Machines Do The Work

Italian producers, Keith & Supabeatz have done it again with their lastest remix of Fatboy Slim & HervĂ©'s Machines Can Do The Work. The duo transforms the original into a super floaty, super original, rump-shaking House track. They use the vocal samples of the original in interesting ways, rearranging them to create new phrases and rhythmic patterns. I can easily say that I prefer this remix over the original and other remixes. Lucky for us, Keith & Supabeatz were nice enough to give this gem out for free. Snatch it below. Check out the rest of their releases here.

I Love L-Vis 1990

L-Vis 1990 aka James Connolly from London, England, has rapidly become one of my favorite producers of Electronic music. His productions are so creative and unique, they become uncategorizable for the most part, and only receive brandings of broad genres like House or Electro House. His sound is extremely flexible. It can be very pounding and heavy, or it can be rather laidback and floaty. I believe when an artist makes their specific sound difficult to explain, they are doing something undeniably interesting and new.  Recently, it seems L-Vis 1990 has been focusing primarily on his DJ career in Europe, and there is no doubt in my mind that he is creating some magical tunes in his downtime. I look forward to his future releases and hopefully, one day I will experience one of his DJ sets. Support L-Vis 1990 on Beatport here.

Aout6 - Don't Care EP

Aout6 recently released a new EP on Nu Style Records titled Don't Care. It features remixes from Trashcan Djs, MMMatthias, and The Sneekers. The original title track is a pretty heavy Dutch House banger that just begs to be played out. I highly recommend picking up the full EP on Beatport here. Aout6 was nice enough to send me a remix that wasn't included in his most recent EP, which was done by Ophex. The remix is an enjoyable laid-back, summer chune. Exclusive Interview With Homework

A DJ/Producer duo from the Netherlands have created a metaphorical earthquake in the Electronic Dance Music scene. Homework (Tom Waist and Zip Stolk), have illustrated through their music to have one of the most unique and refreshing sounds out there right now. Their smash hit, Fissa Tune, was responsible for putting these dudes on the map, by receiving massive support from Brodinski, Jesse Rose, Renaissance Man, and many, many other prominent artists. And there is no sign of them slowing down as their latest unreleased hit, a remix of Art Nouveau's Paradise, seems to be mirroring Fissa Tune's road to success. Recently I had the opportunity of asking the duo some questions. Here's what happened.

DSCO: Let's get to it shall we. Please give my reader’s a little background information on Homework. How did this duo first come to be?

Homework: When people ask us this, there’s always a tendency to quote the Will Ferrell movie Blades Of Glory: “Spawned in the hell fires of Motown.” But sadly it’s not that exotic. We met while working in undoubtedly the best record store in Amsterdam, Concerto. It wasn’t long before we realized we were both into electronic music and dj’ing. So we decided to dj together at the birthday of a mutual friend of ours. It was a big success and we never really played solo after that. Things just took off from there. We started organizing parties in Amsterdam and step by step we gained some acclaim. All that time we were experimenting with producing music.

DSCO: How would you guys’ describe your sound. I believe the answer to this question can be very telling of the artist.

Homework: It’s hard to give a definitive answer to that question. Genres and styles change very rapidly in contemporary dance music these days. The best way to dub our style would be to just call it house music, since that is quite a broad term and we’re trying to stay open-minded to different aspects within that spectrum of dance music. On the other hand, as long as it inspires us it can be any sort of musical style.

DSCO: Would you guys’ prefer DJing in front of a loud, responsive audience, or being hidden away, in the studio, creating your next hit?

Homework: Both have their pros and cons, but the feeling of being connected to a crowd through the music is a great feeling. Especially when you see a crowd go wild to one of our tracks!

DSCO: Producers can become very attached to a particular piece of work. I know this is a difficult question to answer, but what track would you say is your proudest work?

Homework: Every production is like a child and as a proud parent we love all of our children equally. Of course Fissa Tune has a special place, because it was so well received and gave us so much attention internationally. Also our remix of Paradise by Art Nouveau is very dear to us. We tried to do something totally different with that one.

DSCO: Fissa Tune, one of my absolute favorite tracks at the moment, will be released on Exploited Records on July 2nd. First off, how excited are you guys’ for this thing to finally drop? Explain the creative process the two of you went through when you created Fissa Tune?

Homework: We are so happy for the release of Fissa Tune and the other three tracks! We spend a long time on coming up with a good selection of tracks and it’s very nice to see our work paying off. Fissa Tune was born out of a love for what was once dubbed ‘midget’. A trend in house music that combined a minimal, almost tech house, basis with hip-hop like sampling of, mostly, world music influences. We wanted to give our own, original swing to that and what emerged was Fissa Tune.

DSCO: Who would you say is your favorite producer at the moment? Why?

Homework: There isn’t really one in particular. We admire a lot of artists from all sort of different genres. Within the house spectrum we’re really impressed by the new work of guys like Tim Green, Round Table Knights, Ramon Tapia and Jesse Rose, but also by what the guys over at Wolf + Lamb Records are doing. But we’re just as psyched about for instance the work of Bibio, even though that might not work in a club environment.

DSCO: Your tracks have a mesmerizing simplicity about them, and yet they are so rich sounding and fulfilling to the ear. What would you say is your favorite part of your musical creations? The instruments used? The samples? The reception?

Homework: Sampling is a very important part of our production process. Jesse Rose once said that it’s like making your own, personal collage of parts you find interesting. Of course sampling is sort of a weird thing, because you take a thing that somebody else has made and turn it into something that you can call your own. While producing we’re always on the lookout for things that fascinate us. Most of the time finding the right samples is far more important to us than finding, for instance, the right synthesizer sound.

DSCO: Out of all your DJ performances, which one proved to be your favorite? Why?

Homework: Most of the time the more intimate the better, but it all depends on the atmosphere and the way people react to what you’re doing. If you can win a crowd over and see them react to the ‘groove’ you’re trying to present to them, that’s an amazing experience.

DSCO: What can we expect from Homework in the future? Any remixes or originals we should be aware of? Any plans to tour the States?

Homework: We’re taking it step by step. The release of our EP on Exploited will and has brought us a lot of exposure. There are some new productions in the making and we’re looking forward to do a few remixes in the near future. At the moment there aren’t any plans to go to the States, but things are happening so fast as of lately, who knows, maybe we’ll be touring the US before the end of the year. Anything is possible!

DSCO: Now that we know each other a bit better, let’s have some fun. What has been the strangest, funniest, or weirdest occurrence you’ve ever experienced because of your musical career?

Homework: The weirdest thing remains when people recognize us as being Homework. The whole ‘Hey, you’re one of the guys from Homework’- thing is quite flattering.

DSCO: Thank you for speaking with me and I wish you both the best of luck in the future. Homework will always have a friend in DSCO ; ).

Homework has graciously provided us with some fantastic tunage. Check them out below:

PeaceTreaty - Funk N Deep EP

Earlier this month, PeaceTreaty released their first EP on Australian based record label, Ho-Ju Records. The EP is titled Funk N Deep, which refers directly to the two tracks included in the EP. The first track of the EP is Funk In Da Ganja, which is a flat out ridiculous Dutch House club banger that breaks down fatter than this chick. This track contains an awesome drum kit, hypnotizing clicks, and a fatty synth. The second track off PeaceTreaty's new EP is Deepher Insideher featuring Disk Jo Slim. This track is my favorite of the two because of it's massive breakdown that just screams Big Rave. The interesting use of chopped and screwed vocal samples make Deepher Insideher the richer, and more fulfilling track of the two. Overall, a very strong first showing from the DJ/Producer duo hailing out of Los Angeles. Grab the full EP here.

Indie Sunday

Lately, I've been diving deeper into the Indie Electronic Dance scene and as a result, I now have a nice little collection of Indie Dance tracks. First, we have a remix of Radiohead's Pyramid Song done by, up and coming Dubstep producer, Zeds Dead. He does a nice job incorporating the original piano chords and vocals while at the same time, adding a new layer of filthy Dubstep. Next we have Miike Snow's remix of Passion Pit's The Reeling. Miike Snow turns the original into a dreamy dance track that is bound to keep you bouncing ever so slightly for weeks to come. I enjoyed the addition of the catchy bassline as well as the glitchy computer circuitry sounds found throughout the track. Last but not least, we have She Is Danger's remix of the Gorillaz's On Melancholy Hill. She Is Danger transforms the original into a Deep House track that hypnotizes the listener with dubbed vocals and newly added House drums. Put these tracks on repeat and enjoy the rest of your day. Cheers!

Breakbot - Baby I'm Yours (Aeroplane Remix)

This track is HUGE!!! It's also a hipsters' wet dream! Aeroplane remixing Breakbot. Sounds great on paper. And it sounds even better coming out of your speakers. Aeroplane successfully turns Breakbot's funky original Baby I'm Yours, into a huge, retro, pool-side tune. The track is filled with laser-beam synths, driving bassline's, and an awesome 80's feel to it that complement the vocals incredibly well. Get it while it's hot ladies and gent's. Pick it up in full 320kbps on Beatport here.

The Creators Project Interview With Brodinski

Check out this informative interview with the coolest DJ in town, Brodinski. A must see for any fan of his. Can you believe the man has never worked with, let alone purchased vinyl? And on Sunday, after he gets back from tearing the club up, he dedicates the day to search around 250 blogs? Now he's more interesting than ever!

Introducing Two Charming Men

Two Charming Men, a newly formed duo hailing from Ireland who just recently started producing, have created some great remixes that are getting mad love from such famous act's like Foamo, PeaceTreaty, and AudioFun. The first one being their remix of Disco Killah's Ravage. With relative ease and copious amounts of listenability, Two Charming Men manage to turn Disco Killah's original into a big room Electro House monster. The party drums and high-pitch synth stabs are sure to turn any party into a rager, in a matter of seconds. Their other remix is of Lorcan Mak's 4 The Love, which really brings a nice, hearty House vibe that is reminiscent of CLS' famous Can You Feel It. My favorite parts of 4 The Love was the vocal sample work and the extremely catchy synth hook.Keep your eyes out for these fella's, they might just have what it takes to take it to the top.

Jack Beats - Out Of Body

Mr. Vega - High Enough EP

Rot10 Musik has released Mr. Vega's latest EP titled High Enough. The EP contains 3 originals and 3 remixes done by Gooffee, Dooze Jackers, and Radio Krome. High Enough, the title track, drops it's listener to the floor with the out of control breakdown that come's out of left field. It's almost a bit too much, but I'm sure the majority of you will enjoy it. Be sure your sitting down for this one. Next, we have Hands Like This, an Electro House banger to the very core, with trance-inducing drums, catchy sample work, and wonky synth bleeps. The last of the originals is Boombox, which uses a rolling build to capture the listener's attention. The fourth track, which also happens to be my absolute favorite track of the High Enough EP is Gooffee's remix of Hands Like This. This track is FIRE. Gooffee manages to utilize the sounds and samples of the original to create a dramatic, dance-injected Electro House banger. This remix, straight up, drops the listener into another dimension. I must say, that I'm thoroughly impressed by not only Mr. Vega, a producer who is really coming into his own these days, but with Rot10 Musik as well. They are constantly improving themselves with every new release. I can't wait to see what they'll come up with in the future. Be sure to check out the rest of the EP below. Hot Pink Delorean - Court Jester EP

Boston's own, Hot Pink Delorean have released their first EP on Kissy Sell Out's up and coming label, San City High Records. The EP is titled Court Jester, and contains two originals, and four remixes. I will speak of the tracks I believe are worth mentioning and the rest you can preview below. The first track of the EP is the Court Jester. To be quite honest, I'm not a fan of the harpsichord beginning, which at the very least, keeps true to the title's name (you'll understand what I mean once you listen to it), but when the track drops into a heavier, grimier synthesizer, it really bangs. PeaceTreaty's remix of Court Jester is absolute insanity. You will be bleeding from your ears and like it once you hear this banger. Keep an ear out for the second breakdown of the track, because it is one of the fattest breaks this side of the Mississippi! Moving on before I get too excited. The other original, Let's Go, is a straight up party track. It's composed of a nice rhythmic drum pattern that get's the booty shakin', an awesome whistle sample that just hits, and a high-pitched synth ripping your ear's a new one. Kissy Sell Out & MC Cobra's edit of Let's Go is also a nasty track, as it cranks up the intensity and gives the original a bit more of dance hall feel. This EP is a MUST for any DJ who wants to slay the floor with relative ease. Preview the entire EP below. Keep em' coming Kissy!

Dan Aux Mashes PeaceTreaty & Calvin Harris!

Australian based record label, Ho-JuRecords, recently sent this party track over that deserves some major attention. The track is a called I'm Not Alone In Da Ganja composed by Dan Aux. The said track is a mashup between Calvin Harris' I'm Not Alone and PeaceTreaty's soon to be released original titled Funk In Da Ganja. Dan Aux does a masterful job editing these two songs together, essentially creating a solid fist-pumping track. To be honest, I am not a fan of mash-ups, but when they bang this hard, there's always an exception to the rule. Ho-JuRecords stated that if the track receives 1000 listeners, they will give it away as a free download! Click away friends!

Boy 8-Bit Is Still Killing

Blog favorite, Boy 8-Bit, recently released a new remix EP of his monumental album, The Suspense Is Killing Me, on Mad Decent. The remix album was appropriately titled Still Killing, and contains some great auditory gems. The two tracks I was most looking forward to were Philipe de Boyar's remix of The Suspense Is Killing Me and Boy 8-Bit's It's Not Cricket remix of Cricket Scores. I heard both of these killa's in previous mixes done by Boy 8-Bit, and couldn't wait for their release date. Philipe de Boyar reworks Boy 8-Bit's original into an epic, big room banger, filled with fantastic glitch-work and sampling. This track absolutely explodes in your ears. Boy 8-Bit's It's Not Cricket remix of Cricket Scores capitalizes on the originals' horn sounds and rearranges them into dance-infused stabs and circuitry bleeps. Be sure to check out the rest of the EP here.

Quinten 909 & Mayhem - Closer To Me

Today, I am happy to introduce to you all a fresh and funky dance joint. Quinten 909 & Mayhem have teamed up to create a funk-filled, panty-dropper of a track, complete with filters, vocoders, and fat bass riffs. This track is ideal for a hot, sunny day at the pool, spent lounging with friends and of course, beautiful women roaming around. The track has a Chromeo-esque vocal feel, but with the wonderful addition of Treasure Finger-esque filter disco in the background. Both very funky, and very desirable musical attributes if you ask me. Closer To Me will be released very soon on Girls Love DJs Records, but until then, I have the radio edit for your immediate auditory enjoyment. I can't wait to slip this one into one of my DJ sets.
